South Korea recorded a current account surplus of $9.14 billion in March 2025, marking the eleventh consecutive month in positive territory, driven by strong exports. The surplus rose from $7.18 billion in February and $6.99 billion in March 2024. The goods account posted a surplus of $8.49 billion, as exports grew 2.2% year-on-year to $59.31 billion, while imports rose 2.3% to $50.82 billion. The services account registered a $2.21 billion deficit, primarily due to shortfalls in the travel and other business services categories. Meanwhile, the primary income account showed a $3.23 billion surplus, reflecting increased income from equity investments. The secondary income account recorded a $0.37 billion deficit.
