Xiaomi, the tech giant best known for its smartphones, is rapidly becoming a major player in the electric vehicle (EV) market. In a striking milestone, the company announced it delivered over 25,000 EVs in June 2025, marking a record-breaking month primarily driven by the growing popularity of its YU7 electric sedan.

The YU7, launched earlier this year, has captured significant attention for its sleek design, advanced autonomous features, and highly competitive price point. It offers Xiaomi’s HyperOS integration, blending smartphone and vehicle ecosystems for seamless user experience. This integration appears to be a strong selling point for Xiaomi’s tech-savvy customer base.

Xiaomi’s EV strategy is paying off, with the company carving out a solid niche in China's crowded electric car market. The YU7’s strong demand also points to consumers increasingly seeking high-tech, mid-range EVs rather than just budget or luxury models.

Industry analysts credit the success to Xiaomi’s strategic pricing, brand trust, and its extensive supply chain capabilities. The company’s manufacturing partnership with Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC) has enabled efficient scaling and delivery across urban centers.

The June performance not only signals growing consumer confidence in Xiaomi as an automaker but also intensifies competition with established EV brands like BYD, Nio, and even Tesla in China.

As the global push toward electrification continues, Xiaomi’s EV division is expected to play a more prominent role in shaping China’s automotive future. With production capacity expanding and export plans reportedly in the works, Xiaomi could soon bring its smart vehicle experience to international markets.

In a notable achievement for a relatively new EV player, Xiaomi has reported over 25,000 electric vehicle deliveries in June, largely fueled by the surging demand for its YU7 sedan.

Launched in early 2025, the YU7 combines smart technology with clean energy innovation, bringing a fresh perspective to the electric mobility sector. With a competitive price, autonomous driving capabilities, and seamless integration with other Xiaomi devices, the YU7 has quickly become a crowd favorite.

The vehicle's range of up to 800 kilometers and fast-charging battery system cater well to urban and semi-urban customers looking for both convenience and performance. Xiaomi has managed to appeal to younger demographics, leveraging its strong tech branding to make EVs aspirational yet affordable.

June’s delivery figures highlight Xiaomi’s growing foothold in the EV industry, surpassing expectations set by early critics. The company’s vertically integrated supply chain and digital-first sales approach have given it an edge in efficiency and cost control.

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun called the milestone “only the beginning,” hinting at more product lines and even AI-powered driving features set to roll out in coming months. With ongoing government support for EVs in China, the road ahead looks promising for Xiaomi’s automotive ambitions.
