Air Industries Stock Soars After Securing $5.4M B-52 Contract
Shares of Air Industries Group soared on Tuesday following the company’s announcement of a new $5.4 million contract related to the U.S. Air Force’s legendary B-52 Stratofortress program. The news sent investors into a buying frenzy, with the stock climbing over 20% in intraday trading a significant boost for the defense-focused aerospace manufacturer.
The contract, awarded by a major U.S. defense contractor, involves the production of structural components for the B-52 bomber a platform that has served the U.S. military for more than six decades and is undergoing modernization to extend its operational life well into the 2050s. Air Industries will manufacture mission-critical precision metal components used in the aircraft's structure and propulsion systems.
"This award is a testament to our legacy of delivering high-quality, precision aerospace components for critical defense platforms," said Lou Melluzzo, CEO of Air Industries. “Our continued participation in the B-52 program reflects the government’s confidence in our manufacturing expertise and reinforces our long-term relevance in defense supply chains.”
The announcement comes at a time when U.S. defense spending remains strong amid global tensions. The B-52, in particular, is receiving billions in upgrades, including new engines, radar systems, and avionics. Air Industries’ ability to secure contracts tied to such initiatives positions it well for future revenue growth.
Analysts responded favorably to the development. “This is a strategically significant win,” said defense analyst Jason Whitman. “Not just because of the immediate revenue, but due to the program’s longevity and the potential for follow-on work.”
The $5.4 million award is expected to be fulfilled over the next 18 to 24 months, contributing positively to the company’s upcoming financial quarters. In a broader sense, the deal highlights Air Industries’ role in the American defense industrial base and its commitment to maintaining aerospace manufacturing jobs in the U.S.
Investors appeared equally enthusiastic, with trading volume more than tripling the daily average. The stock closed at its highest point in nearly 12 months, signaling renewed investor confidence.
With this new B-52 contract in hand, Air Industries is poised for continued growth and stability in a market where defense reliability is a top priority.
